GhrostWridah – In Love With My Future
16 07 2010
I’ve been waiting for this album to drop since I heard his hit single Red Bottoms. In a short period of time he has become one of my favorite rappers due to the fact that he strays away from the typical southern rapper and has created a unique sound for himself. So I suggest you check download, won’t be disappointed. Download

Bars With V.I.P. : I Go Off
6 04 2010
I first heard V.I.P spit at Young Scolla’s listening session and I was instantly blown away at how immensely talented he was. He considers Bars With V.I.P a warm up for his upcoming project with Freshmen called A Breath of Fresh Air. With his cover of classics such as Dead Presidents and I Wanna Rock I Go Off is sure to become one of your new favorite mixtapes. If your not familiar with his music I suggest you changed that right away.

Current State of Hip Hop
1 04 2010The birth of hip hop was more than a cultural movement, it was a revolution. Finally we had an outlet for the world to witness our struggles and victories. We no longer had to listen to our parents music, we had our own. At last their was something we could relate to. With a beat and a mic our story was told.
As with anything in life they came at time where change was needed, thus the evolution began. Tupac and Biggie brought a refreshing perspective onto . These two individuals perfected the art of storytelling with such songs as Dear Mama and Juicy. This was truly the prime of hip hop. Fast forward to the present. Somewhere along the line hip hop lost its foundation, STORY TELLING! We have now resulted to praising elementary school fundamentals such as metaphors and similes, these have become the determining factor in whether a song is worth listening to or not. Nowadays our favorite rappers are nothing but nursery rhyme spitters. The lack of substance has become unbearing, seems like everyone decided to take the easy route and “dumb it down.”
